2010 Lexus ES 350
My wife and I are retired and recently purchased a 2010 Lexus from a small dealer in Orleans, MA, Cape Cod Car, Route 6A. The owner, Chris T., was not only a professional, he was courteous, kind, trustworthy, helpful and respectful of the fact that this was a car we intended to keep for a long time. You do not find these attributes at a large dealership. Not only did he detail the car to perfection ( I call it spit shined) he did not charge docking fees ( the run to the registry, obtaining a MA inspection sticker) and on top of that we drove off with a full tank of gas. Not a bad deal!!

Over the years I've bought many cars and have had some situations where it was definitely in my interest to have a man along with me to even get a salespersons interest. This was not the case in doing business with you.

Dear Editor, I work in retail on the Cape, and know the value of buying local. I also know how important it is to listen to customers and understand their needs, to take care of them the best I can, and treat them with respect. In these days, where so many people shop "on line", it is nice to know that there are still other businesses out there that go the extra mile to treat their customers well. Recently I purchased a used car for my daughter. A scary enough endeavor on it's own. But rather than go to Craig's list, or a large auto dealer, I bought from a small, independent, local dealer, and I am so glad I did. The car is great, but after I bought it, there were a few problems. It is, after all, a used car. But they were quickly and graciously taken care of with no cost to me. Chris Taloumis at Protection Plus (and Cape Cod Car.com) in Orleans was more concerned about my daughter having a good reliable car, than the expense to himself. As he said to me, "it's about Karma". That's what local business is all about.
